Purpose
To provide faculty and staff an opportunity to develop and expand linkages for research, scholarship or outreach with international dimensions that produce fundable, collaborative proposals for projects, or that will directly support the internationalization of Oregon State University.
Description
The International Programs Faculty Grants and Awards Program aims to foster faculty international initiatives that contribute to expanding and strengthening the international dimensions of teaching, research and service at Oregon State University. The program targets international initiatives that develop innovative, collaborative OSU international research and educational programs, and that facilitate international relationships between OSU and institutions abroad.
The following types of proposals will be considered during this grant cycle:
- International Linkage Grant: Enables faculty to participate in teaching or research at an international institution with which OSU has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or other type of cooperative agreement. This could also include faculty visits to arrange faculty-led study abroad programs or site visits to existing study abroad programs.
- International Student Recruitment Grant: Encourages faculty to recruit international students, especially from geographic areas that are underrepresented at OSU, such as Africa, Central Europe and Latin America. Proposals for other areas will be considered.
- Asia Initiative Linkage Grant: Enables faculty to participate in teaching, research or service at an institution of higher education in Asia in order to expand Oregon State University expertise and experience in these regions. Priority will be given to China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand; other Asian countries will also be considered.
- General International Development Grant: Encourages faculty to develop or revive contacts with colleagues in developing nations for the purpose of collaborating on new proposals for research, training, etc. that will deepen the internationalization of OSU.
- International Alumni Relationship Development: Encourages faculty to cultivate relationships with key international alumni. Such liaisons must speak to unit and OSU mission statements, and desired outcomes must be described.
