OSU University of British Columbia (UBC) Application Checklist
All OSU students are required to complete the OSU Online Study Abroad Application. By completing this online application, a non-refundable, $50 application fee will be charged to your OSU student account.

OSU Study Abroad Program Deadlines
Deadlines for OSU Study Abroad Programs:
- Summer Programs: March 15
- Fall, Year-Long Programs: April 15
- Winter/Spring Semester Programs: October 15
- Spring Term Programs: November 15
Programs may have alternative deadlines or extend deadlines. Confirm with your program advisor.
All study abroad and internship applicants are required to pay an application fee. See the Application Fee page for details.
Submit an OSU OFFICIAL transcript to the Program Coordinator. OSU official transcript can be order by contacting the Registrar's office, or by logging into the OSU Online Student Services.
Nominations for OSU students to UBC starts around February 1 for the following academic year. Contact the program coordinator for further details.
A passport valid for six months beyond your program is required. Apply for a passport immediately if you have not done so already. Visit travel.state.gov for an application.
Two short essays need to be turned in to the program coordinator (Dawn Moyer):
1. Please state how your participation in this international program will contribute to your educational, career and personal goals. (approximately 1/2 page)
2. All participants have personal strengths and weaknesses. Please give yours and describe how they are relevant to your participation in this international program. (approximately 1/2 page)
Two references required (See the References page for details): one must come from an OSU instructor or academic advisor, the other one can be from an employer, living group advisor, or counselor.

All students are required to attend general pre-departure orientation. View orientation dates and registration.
All students are encouraged to visit their primary care provider before going abroad. Information about immunizations and travel health can be obtained from the Travel Medicine Clinic at Student Health Services.
File FAFSA and apply for financial aid for the term(s) of your program.
IDEA will submit a financial aid budget with your estimated cost of attendance to the Office of Financial Aid the term prior to your departure so that your aid award may be adjusted.
