Michael Witbeck is currently an English Language Fellow in Turkey, based at the Educational Technology Directorate of the Ministry of Education in Ankara. He writes about his life in Turkey on his blog.

A longtime instructor at the ELI, he served as ELI Coordinator of Instruction from 2003 to 2006. He has also worked as an ESL instructor, materials developer, and administrator in several other parts of the world, including the Slovak Republic, Japan, Spain, Yemen, and Cyprus. His current interests include proficiency assessment, curriculum development, and the use of Web 2.0 technologies in the learner-centered classroom.
