Kara teaches for the ELI and serves as assistant manager of the ELI Learning Center.
Profile:
Kara van der Pol Hanson has taught English to high school students in China, refugees in Michigan, and immigrants and international students in Oregon. She received her bachelor’s degree from Calvin College and her master’s from OSU. Her interests include literacy, comparative education, and the role of affect in language learning.
Kara loves living in Corvallis and enjoys visiting family in Scotland, where she practices her skills in Glaswegian as a second language.
