Areas of responsibility:
Joe directs the administration of IDEA-sponsored study abroad and exchange programs and the International Degree program. He also has responsibility for advising on study abroad petition programs, international directed study, non-OUS Asia study abroad programs, and faculty teaching opportunities on AHA/NCSA programs. He serves on the Study Abroad Advisory Committee, which approves new education abroad programs, reviews existing programs, and advises on policies related to education abroad in general.
Profile:
Joe Hoff is Director of the International Degree and Education Abroad office and Adjunct Faculty in the College of Education at Oregon State University. He completed his Ph.D. in the Comparative and International Development Education Program at the University of Minnesota and has an M.A. in International Administration from the School for International Training and an M.A. in Spanish from Saint Louis University. He has over 15 years experience in the international education field, previously working at the University of Minnesota, Brown University, the University of Rhode Island and Saint Louis University. He has lived in Japan, Switzerland, and Spain, and has traveled or visited over 30 other countries. He is fluent in Spanish and has communicative ability in Japanese.
