Rachael's responsibilities include advising international students on immigration-related aspects of their student status, visas, employment authorization, travel, family issues, reduced enrollment requests (due to academic or medical difficulties, or final term), and social security questions, among other things. She coordinates scholarships for continuing international students, and serves on numerous campus committees. She presents a variety of workshops for international students and the campus community.
Rachael enjoys working with people from all over the world, and has been involved with international student and faculty advising for more than thirteen years. Prior to coming to Oregon State University, she worked at the University of California at Berkeley, Golden Gate University and MIT. Rachael has held various leadership positions in NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 1999, and has been actively engaged in the field of international education since she studied abroad in Ecuador, South America, as an undergraduate student. She has also lived in Spain. Rachael has a Master's degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts.
