Advising Education Abroad
Welcome to Education Abroad at OSU! These resources are designed to help academic advisors advise students who want to incorporate an international experience into their academic program. A successful education abroad experience involves a team of people working together to ensure that students' needs and interests are met. That team includes the student, parents, academic advisors, study abroad advisors, department chairs, program administrators, overseas staff and other units on campus (such as the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Office of the Registrar, and Business Affairs).
As an academic advisor, you play a key role in assisting students as they decide on an appropriate program and as they select courses they will take overseas to fulfill degree requirements here at OSU. The following pages will explain the program options available to students and how the International Programs office works with students throughout the cycles of their education abroad program, from initial program research through reentry programming after they return home.
Please feel free to contact the staff in International Programs anytime with questions you may have about education abroad opportunities.
