Abstract

The study of gendered speech patterns has been intriguing linguists for decades
now. But, despite the fact that Russians have made significant contributions to the field
of linguistics, the subject of gendered language has not been adequately researched. This
thesis represents a contribution to this domain. By understanding the traditional aspects
of a language and the fundamental gender roles within a society, one should also be able
to understand the role that gendered language undertakes during communication.
