Clara L. Simerville Award for International Education

Nominations are accepted each Spring term for the Clara L. Simerville Award for International Education recognizing an outstanding undergraduate student at Oregon State University.

Dr. Simerville, Professor Emeritus of International Education and Foreign Student Counselor from 1955-1970, firmly believed in international education and the necessity for cross-cultural understanding in our independent world. She worked diligently to assist OSU students, faculty and staff in understanding other cultures.

The Clara Simerville Award will be given in her honor to an OSU undergraduate student who has voluntarily contributed to international understanding through personal relationships, scholarship and research, and involvement in campus or community organizations supporting international understanding.

Students may be nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators or members of the Corvallis community.

Nomination Process

Completed Clara Simerville Award nomination forms can be sent to International Student Advising and Services (ISAS), University Plaza suite 130, (fax: 541-737-6226, e-mail: isas.advisor@oregonstate.edu).  The deadline for 2014 will be April 25, 2014.
