Enhancing Team Effectiveness
Once the members of a quality team are aware of the teams vision, mission, goal(s) and objectives, they are ready to enhance the team's effectiveness.
Team building is one process by which team members can learn to work effectively. Team building involves:
- Building and maintaining a spirit of trust.
- Setting and achieving shared goals.
- Working simultaneously on tasks necessary to the accomplishment of the goals and ultimate maintenance of the team's trustful climate.
Team building activities include:
- Getting to know each other.
- Discussing expectations of other team members.
- Discussing expectations of administrators, staff and other stakeholders.
- Developing procedures to estblish team goals.
- Determining the consensus needed for team decisions.
