Replication of a linear DNA molecule. The parental strands are blue. Newly replicated strands are green. RNA primers are red. After removal of the 5'-end-most RNA primers from newly synthesized strands, the new daughter strands will be shorter. Further rounds of DNA replication will further shorten daughter molecules.
