Polyadenylation

Cleavage and polyadenylation of mRNAs in eukaryotic cells. Cleavage occurs at the polyA site, which is usually 10-35 nucleotides 3' of the upstream polyA signal (AAUAAA). PolyA polymerase then adds several hundred A nucleotides to the 3' end of the mRNA.
