To do: Read the S-PLUS User’s Guide sections on the One-Sample t-Test (p. 305-310) and the Two-Sample t-Test (p. 317-324). Do the conceptual exercises in Chapter 2, but don’t hand them in. (Note: answers are given at the very end of the chapter.)
1. Do mechanical exercises 2.13 and 2.14. The TA will help with this problem in lab. Hand in the answers.
2. Do data problem 2.23. Analyze the data to answer the questions of interest. Hand in a one-paragraph summary of statistical findings and a one-paragraph scope of inference using those in Sections 1.1 and 2.1 as models to follow. Include a self-explanatory graphical display along with the summary of findings. (You may find it helpful to read Section 4.5.2 for some guidelines on writing a summary of statistical findings.)
