Professional Technical Teacher Education Program |
This is a site-based web-delivered teacher education and licensure program. The program is aligned with Oregon's educational standards for the 21st century (CIM and CAM) and OSU's STATEWIDE efforts to meet the needs of individual students throughout Oregon via distributed education opportunities.
The Professional Technical Teacher Education & Licensure (PTE) Program is part of an online Masters in Education (EdM) or (MS). The first 28 credits of the program qualify students for initial licensure in Business Education, and Technology Education in the State of Oregon. Continuing Students take another 20 credits, making up the 48 credits of the full Masters in Education.
Students who already hold a Masters Degree may take the licensure portion of this program alone (28 credits plus practicum). Students who do not wish to become licensed in the State of Oregon, may take the Masters in Education (EdM) or (MS) without the licensure (48 credits no practicum).

The program is open entry and supports individually responsive learning. Students may enroll in web courses and related practica at the rate based on their individual needs, including financially supporting themselves and their families.
