What to Do

Your job in Stage 6 is to learn and practice the skill of differentiation. At the bottom of this Practice Hub, there is a list of Stage 6 Skills. Links take you to sets of practice problems. We recommend that you follow them all. Three hours should be enough time to explore all of the problems.

Each practice problem has a button which will bring up a pop-up window with the answer to the problem. Explanations are provided where appropriate.

A Helping Hand

Discuss problems with your fellow students and with your instructor. You can do this via the Communications Page under CQ Resources. You can contact your instructor at any time. Their goal is to help you.

For your reference and convenience, we have constructed the

CQ Differentiation Kit.
The Kit contains the most useful general rules of differentiation, such as the product rule, quotient rule, chain rule, and power rule. There is also a list of differentiation formulas for other functions that we have studied. These include the trigonometric, inverse trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions. Used wisely, this Differentiation Kit will enable you to differentiate most of the functions that occur in everyday life. Keep it with you. Master it. Use it!! It's an important key to success in CalculusQuest^TM.
