STAGE  1  PRACTICE  HUB

Paper and Pencil Time!! It doesn't count as practice unless you really DO it.

The Stage 1 Practice Area is a little different than those which will follow. If you would like to look at a more typical practice hub, look at the one from Stage 4.

What to Do

The chief practice activity is to get a little more comfortable with navigating CQ Pages by going to the Field Guide to Functions. Once there, you should read through all the pages and do enough of the exercises to review and make a valid self-assessment of your readiness for CalculusQuestTM.

GO TO THE FIELD GUIDE TO FUNCTIONS

There is also a Practice Quiz in the same format as those prevalent in Onward and Upward areas. This quiz is NOT recorded and will NOT appear on the activities list from the What's Next? page. When you submit a practice quiz, which you may do as often as you like, you will see all of the correct answers as well as some helpful hints.

TAKE THE PRACTICE QUIZ

Feel free to discuss problems with your fellow students, be it in person, via email, over the telephone, or using a Hypernews group if one exists. And don't forget about your instructors - their JOB is to help you!

Expected Study Time

Six hours should be enough time to go through the Field Guide to Functions and to take the practice quiz.
