Students Commission (producers). (1996). Nobody's Born A Racist. Video (20 min.). Mennonite Central Committee. Akron University.

 "Nobody's Born A Racist" was produced by youth for youth.  This
 twenty-minute video engages youth with stories, interviews and
 illustrations from their own lives telling how racism has personally
 affected them.  Directly deals with the following issues: all Canadians
 have immigrant roots; Canada as a multiracial culture; systemic racism;
 and the power of youth to bring about changes.  This video is highly
 recommended for youth groups, especially in Canada.

 I chose this video because it reflects the ideas and feelings of youths,
 not only in America but, in Canada.  It gives ideas how students can help
 try to end racism in schools.  I really admire the motivation inspired by
 the Students Commission to produce a video to help their peers understand
 racism and the effects it has on today's society.

 1. What sparked the idea to create a video about racism?
 2. What is the Mennonite Central Committee and what does it do?
 3. Is racism taught or is it biological?
 4. Does Canada have the same racist and sexist issues as the United
 States?
 5. What can we do, as individuals and teachers, to put an end to racism?
