Before Beginning Course Activities:

Five times during the quarter:


This guide is the suggested order for completing coursework.  You may find more people actively engaged in forum interactions if you proceed by the week, however, course activities may be done in any sequence and time you prefer.  As soon as all work is submitted along with a completed scoring guide, your grade will be approved or assigned within one week. Students who have not completed a scoring guide by March 16, 8 am, will be assigned an incomplete for the quarter and are encouraged to complete the course in a time frame that works for them.



Some of the assignments may be changed before the week begins depending on the needs of students and the availability of resource material.  If you made a hard copy of this list, please double check this web page before proceeding with a week's work. 

Week 1:   January  8-12

Week 3:   January 24-29


Week 4:   January 31 - February 5


Week 5:  February 7 - 12
 

Reading:  Finish book from list: Loewen, Kozol, Delpit, Armstrong, Tatum.  Write a journal entry to instructor about the book, post an "ad" for the book on the course forum.

Week 6:  February 14 - 19,  Focus on Rule Three


Week 7:   February 21 - 26, Focus on Rule Four

             Explore Rule Four.


Week 8:  February 28 - March 4, Focus on Rule Five


Week 9:  March 6 - 11, Focus on Rule Five and Six

              Explore Rule Six.

              Read Scenario:  The Teacher and The Parent.
                                       (If your system will not allow you to view this, find a system that will.)


Week 10:  March 13 - 18, Focus on Rule Six,  Coursework due for grade this quarter on March 20, 8 am. Course Activities:

Have a wonderful spring break.
