Self Ranking in the Seven Intelligences

       or Multiple Intelligent/Multicultural


This activity may be connected to self-studies on learning styles, a lesson on multiple intelligence diversity among ethnic groups, and/or general appreciation of others.  It helps to level the playing field for it recognizes the value in multiple intelligences.  Verbal/Linguistic Intelligence is the form of intelligence that dominates most Western educational systems.  Focus on the other intelligences brings us closer to valuing ways of knowing valued by other cultures.



Instructions:  For ED419, you may complete the ranking for yourself and discuss the results in a forum question.

Additionally, One of your personal choices for a course activity is to adapt this ranking for use in a classroom you  currently work in.  You would need to actually use your adaptation with students and tell me and/or other course participants how it worked for you and the students.  For use in the classroom you can make large numbers for the students to stand by as you call out each number, or raise hands, or any method you can think of.  There is a hard copy of this activity in your course packet in a different form.
