Lesson 3 - Getting Ready
Before beginning the Tasks in Lesson 3, you should have a working website
with a single placeholder page. If this is not the case, be sure to
contact the instructor so that the reasons for not having a web site can be
worked on. You can still continue into Lesson 3.
Developing 'Know-How'
As an experienced computer user, you probably already know the technique
of browsing the menu system of your software to learn its features.
HTML editors are no different, but the features they offer will vary.
Important abilities and techniques to learn before building your web site
include:

FrontPage has some features that are unique to FrontPage. These
'proprietary' features can be handy shortcuts to building web sites, but the
downside is that other HTML editors and some web servers will not support
them. Examples of FrontPage proprietary features are Themes, WordArt,
and the Navigation System.
If you are using FrontPage, we will not be using these features in the
beginning, and depending on your client and web server, you may not be able
to use them at all. But feel free to explore the features if you wish
in case they may be useful to you later.
