Teaching Yourself HTML Editing (continued)
Lesson 2 - Task 2
Read this tutorial
for making and submitting your new document for this assignment into Blackboard using HTML.
The tutorial was written for another class, and it uses Netscape Composer to
make the HTML file. But the principles will be the same, no matter
what HTML editor you are using. Just do what it takes to make the
document using your HTML editor.
Write your document inside of a single cell table. Pick a random
inoffensive topic such as your favorite foods or what you did last summer. In your new
document, make some text bold, some italic, some
colored, and some in a different font size.
Make a numbered or bulleted list if you can.
 In
FrontPage 2002 and Netscape Composer, the icon shown highlighted here is the
one for making bullets. Put the cursor in the line of interest,
then click the icon. |
Right click at some unoccupied space inside the one-cell table. See
if it gives you the option to change the cell's color. In FrontPage,
right click, select 'Cell Properties', click the 'Background Colors'
pull-down menu, and select some color that doesn't overwhelm the text.
If you have learned how to insert a picture, go for it and add one or
two, just make sure they are not too big. SAVE your file.
FrontPage users: If you are including one or more graphics in your
file, when you try to save you will receive a 'Save Embedded Files' window.
For this assignment, click 'Set Action', then 'Don't Save'. 'OK',
"OK'.
When you are satisfied with your test document, view and copy the HTML
code for your document, then paste the HTML code as a posting it in the
Discussion Board as assignment L2-2. It should appear mostly
like it did in you HTML editor.
