Week 7 Site Structure

This week you finally get to call your web site a web site! When multiple pages are linked together with a menu system/user interface it becomes a website and is no longer just a webpage. Learn how make new pages and link them to your menus.

Week 6 Print Stylesheet

When your web site has relevant and important content to read, then your visitors might want to print it. To save them paper and ink, you'll design a style sheet just for printing.

Week 5 Graphic design

Week 5 is about making rows and columns and adding the three main optimized graphic types: JPG, PNG, and GIF. So much to learn!

Week 4 Wireframe and navigation design

Week 3 was spent planning the site you'll build the rest of the term. This week, you'll learn to use PHP and HTML to create a wireframe template.

Week 3 Planning a web site project

Week 2 was filled with new tags and the CSS language, which many of you embraced! Those that are struggling MUST come to office hours to get some help.

This week, you'll use those new skills again while writing up a plan for the site you'll build the rest of the term. Start brainstorming now so you have lots to write about.

Week 2 Practice Page

Our first week was fantastic! Most of you attended class, learned how the course works, and submitted your project on time. I'm thrilled!

This week, we'll learn to make a Cascading Style Sheet to beautify a page filled with the most common HTML tags. Get ready to learn a lot!

Please follow these troubleshooting steps in this order:

  1. Attend class and ask lots of questions.
    • If you are not attending class then you'll miss a lot of detail that will help you succeed each week.
    • Not every single thing you need to know is written in the lecture materials.
    • If you write down everything I have on the board, listen and watch more closely, and ask more questions in class, you'll have an easier time understanding the instructions when you work on your own.
  2. Use the troubleshooting checklist.
    • I'll go over each item as we learn it.
  3. Ask for help in the weekly forum.
    • So other students can help you and earn a point.
    • So you can earn the weekly forum point.
  4. Visit office hours.
    • Drop by or email me for an appointment if you can't make office hours.
  5. Email the instructor (last resort).
