The Beaver has been the official yearbook of Oregon State University since 1885. Once name the Hayseed and also the Orange, the yearbook evolved to the name the Beaver shortly after the first reference was made to Beavers as an athletic team name in 1910. The Beaver Yearbook is one of the five student media productions at OSU. All five student media have no formal connection but do operate with a University Student Media Committer, comprised of students and faculty members from around the university. Our responsibilities as staff members are to continue the yearbook's excellent tradition and promote it for future growth. Revenue for the production of the book are obtained through book sales and page sales to Greek houses, organizations and on-campus living groups; as well as advertisements told by Educational Services, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Without the help of the students at Oregon State University the yearbook would not be available for those with to remember their times at OSU. |
