BEEF BOWL
Community Service Event
Beef Bowl is a combined effort of the Young Cattlemen's Association and the Oregon Beef Council in which they promote the consumer use of beef. Members of both organizations serve beef samples to football fans during Beaver FanFare at the OSU Homecoming Football game. In 2003, nearly 5,300 samples of flatiron steaks donated by Tyson Foods were given out.
During the several hours the booth is manned, YCA and Beef Council members are answering questions and informing people about the quality of beef and assuring them of the safety of beef products. This event is a great way for YCA members to serve, using their knowledge and communication skills. Considering how many people pass through the Beef Bowl booth, this event surely makes a great effort in promoting the products of the beef industry!
