January 16th (Wednesday): SIM Club Portland Field Trip
- IT Field Trip to Nike and Intel
- Lunch at Nike
- Dinner Banquet with IT Professionals sponsored by Intel and hosted by Society of Information Management (Portland Chapter).
- Cost is $15 per student if you are using transportation that is provided by OSU Van Pool
- Tentative Agenda:
- Tour of Nike campus
- Tour of data center - Nike
- Presentation about Nike's Supply Chain
- Presentation about Product Creation IT
- Lunch at Nike
- Informal discussion with two local IT executives (Fred Pond, CIO North Pacific, and Doug Averill, IT Director, Multnomah Athletic Club and MIS@OSU Advisory Council Member) about their career paths/work experiences
- Overview of Intel IT, Organizational structure, governance, budget etc.
- Tour of Intel's new high performance Data Center
- Diner banquet and presentation in Portland downtown area at the "student night" hosted by Society of Information Management (Portland Chapter), and sponsored by Intel. The Portland SIM members are mostly IT professionals with many years of industry experience.
