Pride 2003, held May 11th thru May 16th, was a great success. Queer Pride Week is held every spring term so celebrate with us this upcoming year!

      Candlelight Vigil - MU Steps
    Sunday, May 11, 2003 -- 8-9pm
    This year's Vigil hopes to build a real community alliance by liberating us from some of the baggage of the past, while keeping us mindful and attentive to each other and the needs of the community in the future.
  Monday -- May 12, 2003
      Pride Week Kickoff BBQ - MU Quad
    Monday, May 12, 2003 -- Noon-1pm
    This *FREE* event in the Memorial Union Quad is a kickoff for OSU's 2003 Queer Pride Week. Come join us from 12-1pm in the Quad for free food and drink and to come see what is in store for the rest of the week!

      Intersexuality - MU 208
    Monday, May 12, 2003 -- MU 208 @ 1-3pm
    Intersexed individuals will talk about what it means to be intersex, share life experiences, and explore how to get involved in the struggle for intersex rights.

      Queer Student Panel - MU Main Lounge
    Monday, May 12, 2003 -- 4-5pm
    This panel is a chance to inform the OSU Campus about Queer identities and lives by offering a chance to ask questions to Queer individuals, and expand on knowledge about the queer community

      In the Borderlands - Black Cultural Center
    Monday, May 12, 2003 -- 5:30-7pm
    In the Borderlands is a candid and informal discussion of the group-specific issues facing people of color in the LGBT community with respect to coming to terms with one's sexuality, coming out, and living as an out LGBT person. Topics to be addressed include cultural pressures, discrimination, and racism within the LGBT community.

      Rainbow Continuum - Women's Center

    The Rainbow Continuum's weekly Monday night meeting will still happen during Pride Week, too! Stop on by to pick up information about Pride Week and to have some good social fun!

  Tuesday -- May 13, 2003

      Hidden History - MU 208
    11:30-1:30pm
    This event is a two-part program that begins with film on the life and activism of Bayard Rustin, the not-so-well-known gay African American civil rights activist. Following the film will be a discussion of the role of LGBT activists in non-LGBT related movements, and information regarding other little known LGBT activists will be available.
      Proud Professionals - Women's Center
    Tuesday, May 13, 2003 -- 6:30-8pm
    As a part of OSU's Queer Pride Week 2003, this panel will be comprised of individuals from various fields, each of whom will be asked to speak about how they selected (or happened into) their career path, challenges they faced as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, and/or transgender individual in their field, ways they sought support or mentorship, and any tips they have for queer college students considering their field.

      Lube Olympics - MU Quad
    Wednesday, May 14, 2003 -- 11-1pm
    The Lube Olympics, as part of OSU's 2003 Pride Week Celebration, are being put on as a celebration of the outdoors and to have some good messy fun. Two activities will go on simultaneously: a lubricated water slide, and lubricant body wrestling. All activities are free and open to the public, so bring some a swimsuit or old clothes and come join us in the Quad for some slippery midweek fun!

      Homosexuality and the Bible - MU Main Lounge
    Wednesday, May 14, 2003 -- 2-4pm
    Students, faculty, staff and community members will have an opportunity to discuss Biblical references to homosexuality and the implications for society.

      Scout's Honor - MU Main Lounge
    Wednesday, May 14, 2003 -- 5-7pm
    The movie 'Scout's Honor' traces the conflict between the anti-gay policies of the Boy Scouts of America and the broad-based movement by many of its members to overturn them. The film offers a powerful example of what can happen when straight and gay Americans come together with a common purpose. A discussion will follow the movie.

      Campout! - MU Quad
    Wednesday, May 14, 2003 -- 9pm - Overnight
    Bring your own smore-making stuff to enjoy a campfire with friends, and bring a tarp and a sleeping bag or blankets so you can spend the night with us in the Quad!

    A discussion and workshop on bisexuality and biphobia.

      Sex Toys 101 - MU International Forum
    Thursday, May 15, 2003 -- 2-4pm
    A safe and respectful demonstration of adult sex toys, fun and lively with base humor. Some of the oldest known marital aids to the latest and greatest sexual paraphernalia will be discussed.

      Heroic Past, Proud Future: A Dessert Celebration

    This is an event to honor the leaders in the Queer and Allied community for their work, As well as a formal occasion to come together in support of and to encourage members to strive for excellence.

      Trans 101 - Women's Center
    Friday, May 16, 2003 -- 10am-Noon
    Trans 101 will provide a discussion and presentation on issues surrounding transsexuality and transgender individuals. Information on transphobia and how to combat it will also be provided.

      Trans Ally - Women's Center
    Friday, May 16, 2003 -- 1-3pm
    This event will assist participants in being better allies to transgender, transsexual and intersex people.

      Drag Show - MU Ballroom
    Friday, May 16, 2003 -- 7:30-11pm
    Come celebrate OSU's 2003 Queer Pride Week with the always-fabulous Annual Eddie Hickey Memorial Drag Show and Dance! Doors open at 7pm, and the show goes from 7:30-9:30pm. Make sure to stay for the dance afterwards. This event is free but arrive early to guarantee a good seat!
