Internships

Aspen Ridge Ranch

www.aspenridgemontana.com

My name is Doug Bailey, I am the ranch manager at Aspen Ridge Ranch in Red Lodge, Montana. We have a new equine facility here and are looking for a hard working student with a creative mind to give us a hand for the summer. I have a bachelors in Equine Science from Louisiana Tech University, and know how valuable a real working opportunity is for students, especially one in a different environment.

We’re looking for a student, preferably between their Junior and Senior year with horse experience, and a willingness to work hard. We can make an arrangement with professors to try and ensure that they are getting the kind of learning experience that will most help them be prepared for gaining employment after graduation.

The intern will have a wide variety of responsibilities, and work closely beside me most of the summer in the management of the day to day operations of the ranch, so fear not, I am not just looking for someone to muck out stalls…although they will have to do some stall cleaning, of course! We have 11 miles of horse riding trails, and operate primarily as a boarding facility. We are going to be trying some new things this summer with training clinics, Equine events, and we are starting a brand new hay field, so a student will get to work with that first hand.
