Membership Information

The Oregon State Polo Club is open to any student at Oregon State University. Even those without riding experience are welcome to come and get taught riding and polo. Prospective members are allowed to come to three riding practices before they must pay dues for the term to continue riding. A risk and release form must be filled out and signed by all students before their first practice. Practices are held at the Benton County Fairgrounds on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the school term.

Dues

Dues are paid on a per term basis and may be reduced if the member chooses to assist with certain barn tasks for the duration of the current term.

Returning Member Dues
Basic Membership$230
With one stall night / week$200

New Member Dues
Basic Membership$180
With one stall night / week$150

Exercising Horses

There are opportunities to ride the polo ponies outside of practice. This additional exercise is beneficial for both rider and mount. Please sign up to ride on the Horse Exercise Schedule.

Stall Night Duties

Stall Nights are assigned on a per term basis. Two club members are assigned to a particular night of the week (for example, every Wednesday) to clean the stalls. This job entails mucking all of the club stalls and adding a quarter of a bag of clean pellet bedding to each.

Penalties

There are penalties for abandoning a task beyond the first week of the term, when changes are being made. If a member decides he/she cannot do a task later in the term and cannot find someone to fulfill it, he/she will pay back the discount plus an additional $10.00. Therefore, someone dropping a night shift would pay the club back $40.00.
