Activities

Activities here at Pi Phi give us even more opportunity to bond as sisters. Some of our activities also include the community and other greek organizations. The great thing about our chapter is that there is always something to do. Whether it be a chapter planned activity, one that we plan amongst ourselves, or even justwatching some late night TV shows, you always have something to do!

Fall Term

Fall Term is one of our more activity-filled terms. This is the term when we have our All House Retreat sometime after initiation. This gives us a chance to do something fun as an entire chapter. During this term we also participate in Homecoming Week. During that week, we pair up with a fraternity and try to win points in various events. Last year, we paired up with Sigma Nu and came in Third Place! During this term, we also have our Big/Lil events when the new pledges find out who their Big Sister is. To end the term we have our annual Pi Phi Christmas. All of the sisters get into their families (Big Sisters and Lil Sisters) and exchance presents with one another. That night we also have the newly inducted Executive Council prepare and serve the chapter dinner. It really is a great time had by all.

Winter Term

Winter Term is probably the less busy of the three terms. During this term, we have our annual formal Beau and Arrow Dance. Beau and Arrow gives us a chance to get dressed in our best and dance the night away. This past year we also had some exchange dinners with a few different fraternities. We had about half of our chapter eat dinner at the fraternity and about half of the fraternity come to our house for dinner as well. We did this quite a few times last year and they really do turn out to be a lot of fun.

Spring Term

Spring Term is one of our most fun terms! We get to participate in Greek Week which consists of events centered around all of the Greek organizations at Oregon State University. Some of the events included a car tire change, tug-o-war, and then different daily activities for points. We also have our annual Barn Dance during the Spring as well. Spring Term is also a time for our Sing performance. Last year we participated with Phi Delta Theta and came back with a Best House Support award. Sing is the annual Mom's Weekend performance of different fraternity and sorority pairs doing their rendition of a musical. Last year, we chose Saturday Night Fever which turned out to be a great time. Not only do we have these activities, but this is also the term we hold our annual Philanthropy.

 

Now these are only a few of the activities we have here at Pi Phi. We also do different things with each other such as go on road trips, plan Senior Week activities as a tribute to the outgoing seniors, alumni activities, Pi Phi conventions, Founder's Day, a pledge retreat, and the list goes on.
