  • The OSU Math Club and the Pi Mu Epsilon Oregon Beta Chapter invite all students in the Pacific Northwest region to present their mathematics work at the Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium at OSU on April 24, 2010!
  • NUMS features talks on mathematics given by undergraduates about their research experiences, results of competitions, or particularly interesting results. First-year graduate students are welcome to present research completed while still undergraduates.
  • This year, NUMS will feature an invited keynote speaker David Perkinson, Professor of Mathematics at Reed College) who will be talking on Sandpiles
  • Travel support will be available, see details or inquire to nums [at] math.oregonstate.edu with questions
  • Free lunch will be provided!
  • Free conference t-shirts for speakers!
  • Prizes in various categories will be awarded (including longest distance traveled to attend!).

  • On May 9, 2009, students interested in mathematics gathered at Oregon State University for a series of talks given by mathematics undergraduates about their research experiences, results of competitions, or particularly interesting results. The presentations were focused on undergraduate accessibility without requiring specialized knowledge. Participants from all across Oregon attended the symposium.
