Hydrophiles Field Trips

Alsea Watersheds Field Trip, 2001 During the 2009-10 academic year, like in the past, the Hydrophiles will sponsor several field trips. All field trips are offered for free or for a small fee.

McKenzie River, below.
Beginning the 1998-99 academic year, the club began a tradition of going on a field trip each quarter with an appropriate theme. Our field trips have taken us to some wonderful places in the PNW, and we've met many interesting professionals involved in science, engineering, and management of water resources.   Mt. Hood, 2003

August 1-2, 2009 Rafting and Camping on the McKenzie River

Our summer rafting and camping trip on the McKenzie River was a huge success!

Sixteen students, friends, and significant others showed up to raft the McKenzie River from Finn Creek to BK Dorris State Park. Afterwards, the group camped at Delta Campground near the River. A big thanks goes out to all volunteers that helped with the trip: Bridget, Abby, Robyn, Bevin, and Josh.

To see more pictures of the trip, check out Robyn's awesome Picasa Web Album here.
