Marie
(left): "Do crabs bite?!" |
Hi,
I am Marie and I am one of the exchange students that are in Corvallis
for one year through the Baden Württemberg program. Back at my
home university in Tübingen I majored in Plant Physiology and
had several minors. Here I don’t really know what I am doing!
I came to OSU and discovered that most of the classes offered on the
internet are not up to date anymore, and so I am just jumping between
departments. I had studied in Tübingen for three years, and when
I return I hope to be done with my diploma in about a year and a half.My
hobbies and interests are wide
spread, but unfortunately there is not always time for all of them. I also
love to eat, especially chips, and for that there is always time! |

Punctuality!
During
the Christmas break, my boyfriend, Toralf and I were traveling with Amtrak
along the West Coast. We
visited
many interesting places and going by train was fun and convenient.
Our last
destination was LA, and when it was time to return to Corvallis
I assumed that the train would leave at 1pm. At 9:30am I checked
out
tickets
and discovered that our train left at 10:15. I jumped up and
screamed, thinking that my heart would stop. Toralf, as always, stayed
calm.
We packed up our stuff, checked out, and ran to the metro stop.
We arrived at the station three minutes before our train was
to leave,
so I ran to the service desk and asked the man, “Excuse me, I
am really late but I need to get to train #13! Could you help me please?” The
man smiled at me and said, “ Happy New Year!” Oops, I forgot
that. “Oh yes,” I said, “Happy New Year, could you
please help me now?” The man laughed and said, “relax,
you are not late, the train is late and these people are waiting
for it to arrive!”
