PISCO talk (Speaker to be determined).
“PISCO is a large-scale marine research program that focuses on understanding the nearshore ecosystems of the U.S. West Coast. An interdisciplinary collaboration of scientists from four universities, PISCO integrates long-term monitoring of ecological and oceanographic processes at dozens of coastal sites with experimental work in the lab and field. We explore how individual organisms, populations, and ecological communities vary over space and time. PISCO's findings are applied to issues of ocean conservation and management, and are shared through our public outreach and student training programs.” For more information or questions contact Reed Ozretich - ozretire@onid.orst.edu

April 29th: Meeting 6pm

This meeting will be either a Condor presentation by David Moen or a Cheetah presentation by Becca McCloskey and Dana Hunter. The California Condor talk will discuss the cultural and historical background, and perhaps the implications of reintroducing the condor into the Columbia Gorge; examining the possible historical nest sites. The Cheetah talk will discuss the management of the species within a zoo-type setting. Learn more about the most successful Cheetah breeding program in the United States. CANCELED: Zoo trip this weekend instead. This weekend trip will be to Mt. St. Helens where we will tour trails and caves. We will be volunteering to clean up Ape Caves as well as prepare Trail of Two Forests and nearby facilities for the summer season. The Fisheries and Wildlife Club will have a booth at this event representing the Club. If you are interested in helping out at the booth there will be a sign up sheet where you can volunteer your time (PLEASE!!). May 23rd: Eola Hills Winery

Come join the club for an end of the year bash! Tickets for the event will be sold through the club beginning in May. This is a fundraiser event so there will be an auction which will include art of various forms by the leadership and other students. If you have something you wish to donate please contact a leader. Fellow (grad) student Katie Moriarty will lead an orienteering trip where we will learn such skills as basic survival, GPS, and using a compass. Destination and distance will be dependant on the people who are going.
