Discovery Days

Location: LaSells Stewart Center
FW Club co-hosts over 1500 elementary and middle school children on the OSU campus to learn about fish, wildlife and more. We would like everyone to come and help with our educational and fun room. This is a great chance to get a youngster excited about nature and to build your personal resume. No experience needed to help staff our room for an hour or two, so please volunteer! "Got Gas? Try Recompression!" Alena Pribyl will be speaking about barotrauma in rockfish – telling us what barotraumas is and how it is caused, recompression techniques currently used for rockfish, and about experiments she conducted at Hatfield Marine Science Center to determine if rockfish can recover from barotraumas in the long term.

Dad's Weekend

Come listen to Susan Haig talk about the efforts to bring California Condors back into Oregon. She has spent the last two years on the panel that evaluates their progress. She will also talk about threats that exist for condors and ways that people can help their recovery.
