The Orchard Court community center is exclusively available to residents of OC as an area where residents, their neighbors and their friends can gather outside of apartment areas. The community Center is intended to provide auxiliary space in which special events and activities can be staged and enhanced.
The Community Center is regularly booked, and regularly used, by many of our residents. To maximize the use of the Community Center, and to keep it clean and functioning for you, you will be asked to read and sign an agreement when you check out the Community Center keys. The agreement covers the guidelines for use of the Center, including notifying the Community Assistant if you need to cancel your reservation , and cleaning the Center thoroughly after your event. Please be sure to read the agreement and follow the guidelines to ensure continued use of this wonderful resource!
Contact to reserve: Community Assistant: Kari Hancock (754- 7363) You can also use the online form.
Please make a reservation at least a week in advance. If you want to cancel your reservation, please call the OC Community Assistant in advance so that other residents can use the room. Remember—the resident who makes the reservation and checks out the keys is responsible for:
Alcohol is prohibited in & around the Community Center Indoor Playroom The playroom in the Community Center is now open to all Orchard Court residents. The playroom door can be opened with your laundry key. To ensure that the room may be used by as many OC residents as possible, it is very important that the rules posted in the room be followed carefully. If furniture, equipment and toys are damaged or removed from the room, we may consider limiting access. Please remember: when using the playroom, you will only have access to the playroom, the restrooms, and the utility closet (for cleaning supplies). Do not enter the main hall or the kitchen. Some of the rules include:
We hope you and your children enjoy using the playroom! The OC Manager and Community Assistants will be dropping into the playroom on a regular basis, but if you have a question, comment or suggestion at any time, please let us know. Community Center Heat The thermostats are electronically programmed to turn down to 50 degrees at 6pm, 12am, 6am and 12 noon. To adjust the heat, simply press the button with the up or down arrow until the small number in the top left-hand corner reads the temperature you wish—we recommend 68 to 70 degrees F. STEREO SYSTEM FHA purchased a stereo system for use during Community Center events. The stereo is kept in the kitchen closet—the Community Center key you sign out will open the padlock. TV There is a TV and VCR that is locked in the community center. If you would like to use it, notify the Community Assistant when you reserve the community center. Please note: Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by their parent or guardian. The resident who reserves the Community Center and checks out the keys will be held responsible for any damage to the Community Center, the furniture and equipment, and must leave the Community Center clean and tidy. Cleaning GuidelinesThe Community Center must be cleaned after you use it. The following is a checklist of items that need to be completed. You are responsible for the cleanliness of the center and any damage that has occurred. If the items listed below are not satisfactorily cleaned, the manager will contact you, and you will be asked to reclean the items in question, or your account will be charged for the cleaning.
