Beta Upsilon chapter was installed on the Oregon State University campus in May 1947, and his been an active presence in the University’s Greek Community ever since.   The ladies of Beta Upsilon chapter reside in a beautiful three-story house located in the heart of ‘Greek Row’ – as many as 54 girls can live together at one time.  Our house is only a short two-block walk from campus. We have a live-in Resident Assistant - Julie Clark.

Our front door enters onto a large raised foyer.  To the left, our living room is comfortably appointed with couches and chairs, even a grand piano for those among us with musical talents.  A large entertainment room with a big-screen TV and sectional sofas is located to the right of the foyer – this is where we hold Monday night meetings, as well as other fun events and sisterhoods throughout the week.

Our dining room and kitchen are also located on the first floor.  A full-time cook prepares lunch and dinner for us on weekdays – breakfast each morning is continental style.  Every Monday night, before our house meetings, we all dress up and are served a formal sit-down dinner by our house-boys - young men from OS fraternities. Much like a family sharing the day’s events, our Monday night dinners provide an opportunity to highlight the week’s events, recognize scholastic achievement, and just spend time together at the start of each school week.

Girls’ rooms are situated on the second and third floors.  Rooms vary in size, from singles to holding up to nine young women, and contain desks, closets, and a futon for relaxing and socializing.  Each room has a host-member, who determines that room’s decorative theme.  Sleeping is reserved for the third floor sleeping porch – 24 hour quiet and lights-out insure a good-night’s sleep!
