Office of Greek Life

Mission
The mission of the Office of Greek Life is to build intentional relationships with the Greek students, and serve as a resource to the entire Greek Community.

Goals
1. Actively advocate and promote diversity and cultural competence.

2. Develop lasting relationships between the University and their fraternal organization as alumni.

3. Promote academic success.

4. Establish an ethical and value-based community.

5.Advocate for and intentionally promote a healthy, purpose-driven Greek community.

Outcomes
Goal 1 - Actively advocate and promote diversity and cultural competence.
Outcome 1 - Establish multi-cultural Greek Council.

Goal 2 - Develop lasting relationships between the University and their fraternal organization.
Outcome 1 - Facilitate the colonization of Delta Sigma Phi.
Outcome 2 - Develop a resource guide for Resident Advisors and Faculty Advisors.

Goal 3 - Promote academic success.
Outcome 1 - Develop resource guide.

Goal 4 - Advocate for and intentionally promote a healthy, purpose-driven Greek community.
Outcome 1 - Achieve stronger relationships between IFC, OSU Panhellenic and Greek organizations of color.
Outcome 2 - Develop a comprehensive safety and health inspection process for registered events.
Outcome 3 - Greek Leadership Cohort will demonstrate a working knowledge of procedures for conducting a fire drill, the procedures for social registration and new membership registration.
Outcome 4 - Provide feedback on experience with the organization climate of the Office of Greek Life.

Goal 5 - Establish an ethical and value-based community that promotes academic success.
Outcome 1 - Identify correct procedures for building a philanthropy event.
Outcome 2 - Demonstrate knowledge of the difference between community service and philanthropy events.

What We Do

  • Administer, supervise and lead the Greek Life Development area.
  • Enhance the learning-living environment by providing support, resources, reports, services, programs, and consultation for Greek-letter organizations with an emphasis on chapter development, contact with the Chapter Advisors, Housing Corporation Board Presidents, National Consultants and their staffs, and other community-based groups.
  • Oversee all major Greek-wide programs. Among them are New Member Recruitment, All-University Sing, Greek Week, Greek Summit.
  • Liaison with the Corvallis Community; i.e., Oregon State Police, Corvallis Police Department, Corvallis Fire Department, Oregon Liquor Control Commission, Benton County Environmental Health Department, North College Hill Neighborhood Association, and concerned individuals and/or groups.
