Work-Study Employers

Beaver JobNet is used to advertise openings to students for both regular and Federal work-study student employment, in addition to other avenues used by departments for publicizing open positions. Beaver JobNet also serves a second important function for OSU work-study administration by serving as a collection point for the job descriptions required by the federal government.

In order for all students awarded Federal work-study to have equal opportunity to see what jobs are available, employers are asked to post openings on Beaver JobNet for a minimum of three business days before they set up interviews and then hire, in addition to any other media they use to advertise. Beaver JobNet is the one centralized location for campus employment opportunities and work-study students are encouraged to check the listings often so they catch the frequent updates. Employers establish the qualifications necessary for their own positions, and should include this criteria in the job posting. For example, qualifications might include majoring in a specific subject or having certain experience, such as C programming. Hiring decisions are always made by the departmental staff.
