Reporting Scholarships and Additional Resources

Scholarships listed on your award notification under “Financial Aid Programs” are University scholarships, while those listed under “Other Resources” are private awards and/or agency assistance. The OSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships information about these awards is based on information either from the department or from you, the recipient. Your official notification of a scholarship should come from the donor of the award. You should contact the donor if you have questions regarding these awards.

If you know you will receive a scholarship or other assistance that is not listed on your award, you must report this information in writing to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Federal law requires that all of your educational assistance be included in your financial aid award.

If the total amount of your aid exceeds the amount of your “need,” the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is required to adjust and possibly reduce, other awards when we learn of any additional assistance. This includes all scholarships, grants, housing resident assistance, tuition waivers or reductions, ROTC stipends, veteran’s benefits, vocational rehabilitation benefits and employer tuition and book assistance. Graduate students with graduate research and/or teaching positions should notify the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships directly.

Contact the OSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at any time during the year to report additional scholarships or financial assistance received. In some cases, you may be required to repay aid that you have already received.
