OSU Need-Based Scholarships

Oregon State University awards some scholarships to students who have demonstrated financial need. These scholarships may also take into account academic performance, special skills and talents, community involvement, leadership qualities, or some combination of these, in addition to financial need. University policy has defined "financial need" as the cost of attendance minus expected family contribution, as calculated by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  In order to receive need based or merit based student assistance, a student must be enrolled for the term for which the funds will be paid, meet all fund specific criteria, and be making satisfactory academic progress.  For a full description of satisfactory academic progress, visit the OSU financial aid office website at:  http://oregonstate.edu/financialaid/sap.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships administers need-based scholarships. Undergraduate students who complete the FAFSA by the priority deadline and meet eligibility requirements are considered for these awards; a separate application is not required. The number of awards, the dollar amounts, and award criteria will vary according to the specific scholarship.
