Course II: Food Business Creation

$950

A practical course to help you start building your food business.
You will learn fundamentals about topics like market research, business strategy, product development, processing and regulatory compliance. You will gain perspective on your food business idea, learn to critically evaluate your market potential, and learn to make informed decisions directly pertaining to your food business venture.

You will explore firsthand the world of product development, food production and the regulatory process. You will walk through the steps of refining your product through market research, taking that information into product development and then shifting your focus from the kitchen to the food production line.

The course is designed to give you a working knowledge of a variety of topics. The program starts with an initial interview, which will help the course instructors tailor the material covered. In addition, course activities will be designed for you to apply the concepts discussed, and instructions will be given to help you start applying the topics to your own business.

You won't be left on your own to figure all this out. You will have a set amount of one-on-one time with staff from the Food Innovation Center to help you make sense of the course material in the context of your business idea. This time is intended to help you apply the concepts of the course. If, after applying the course material and your one-on-one meetings, you determine that you are ready and willing to proceed, professionals in marketing, business, product development and processing will be available on a fee-basis to begin helping you with on your project as you need.

In the end, you will have a much better idea as to what it will take to make your business idea a successful business.

Discounts are available for business partners to attend the course together.
