 Robyn Wells grew up moving                                    53%                     47%
 frequently. She found a home

 That sense of belonging started during her nationwide college
 search. She wanted a school that was large enough to have a
 marching band. She wanted plenty of engineering options. And she   FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS
 wanted a university that wanted her back.                     6,181 (20%)
 Oregon State checked all her boxes. Especially the third one. When
 Robyn came to visit campus from Nebraska, “everyone was very,
 very friendly,” she says. “Some of the other schools I looked at   FRESHMEN AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL GPA
 weren’t. OSU really made me feel like they wanted me to be there.”
 Three years later, Robyn says Oregon State is still one of the   3.63
 friendliest places she’s ever lived. “Also, the campus is gorgeous,”
 which helps when you’re pursuing a rigorous major. “Every time you   MEAN SAT/ACT COMPOSITE SCORE
 go outside, it’s a small break because you are in nature,” she says.
 Robyn enjoys the small atmosphere of the Honors College while   1,120/24.8
 still getting the full college experience at Oregon State. She’s been
 a marching band squad leader, an Honors College ambassador    HONORS COLLEGE STUDENTS
 and a mentor for first-year students in Women and Minorities in
 Engineering. She’s also completing an internship with a circuit   1,057
 board manufacturer where she can use what she’s learned
 about engineering and apply broader skills in problem-solving
 and collaboration.                                            STATES REPRESENTED
 A set of skills that will serve Robyn well wherever her next home   50
 turns out to be.
