LaSells Stewart Center. OSU offers year–round meeting and conference services at the LaSells Stewart Center (LSC) and other campus and off–campus sites. The professional staff at the Center is experienced in providing support services associated with such events. Publicity, registration and confirmation services, meeting evaluation, catering arrangements for receptions, banquets, breaks and meals, tour and transportation coordination, and lodging assistance are among the low–cost services available.
The meeting rooms at LSC are air–conditioned, offer flexible seating and good acoustics. They can accommodate groups ranging in size from five or six people to plenary sessions of 1200. Satellite reception and transmission arrangements are available. Meeting rooms are wired for computer use. A wide variety of audio–visual equipment is available. Other campus facilities for non–academic use also are scheduled through the LaSells Stewart Center.
LSC also is a home for University cultural events, hosting speakers, musical performances and other activities throughout the year. The Giustina Art Gallery features the works of many artists throughout the year, with exhibits changing every four to six weeks.
OSU Portland Center. The OSU Portland Center (administered through the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement) is located at the corner of 3rd and Yamhill in downtown Portland. Occupying the ground floor of the historic Director Building, the center provides a home base for OSU activities in the Portland area. Faculty and staff can schedule meetings, conferences, classes, and seminars in the center’s rooms, or can use one of the center’s faculty desks as a temporary off–campus office. The center also houses a library and reading room, a retail sales area, the offices of the Portland Beaver Club, and admissions information center. University Marketing. The Office of University Marketing is responsible for developing and providing leadership for the execution of the University’s marketing plan. The office seeks to coordinate marketing execution across University functions in support of the President’s goals for the University. Periodic assessments and market research are conducted to determine key constituents’ reactions to materials, overall brand image and response to advertising and promotional messages. Consulting on how to conduct and coordinate market research, including qualitative and quantitative studies, is available.
