All University news is disseminated to the news media through the Department of News and Communication Services (NCS), which maintains close ties with newspapers, radio and television stations, press associations, mass media and professional publications throughout Oregon, the region, and the nation.
Faculty members are encouraged to assist in news coverage by contacting the department with tips about any research findings, professional publications, initiatives, student activities or new educational programs that they feel might be of interest to the general public.
The department also publishes OSU This Week, the faculty-staff newsletter, every Thursday during fall, winter and spring terms, and monthly during summer term. The deadline for copy is noon on Friday for publication in the following week's issue.
