OSU Foundation. The OSU Foundation, incorporated as a nonprofit corporation on October 15, 1947, is for a charitable nonprofit corporation separate from, but working in close connection with the University. The Foundation has responsibility for raising private gifts for the colleges, centers, programs, students, and faculty. It requests and accepts outright gifts of cash, securities, and real and personal property, as well as deferred gifts such as bequests, life insurance, and life income agreements (primarily gift annuities and charitable remainder unitrusts), to support University programs. The Foundation also invests, manages, administers, and distributes funds received as directed by the various donors. The Foundation is directed by a volunteer Board of Governors with the President responsible to the officers of the board.
