Parking permits may be paid for by payroll deduction spread over a 1, 3 or 9 month time span. All the payroll deduction plans begin with the October paycheck. If you wish to have the price of the permit deducted from your paycheck (pre-tax for the 3 and 9 month deduction), complete and attach the payroll deduction form (available through October 9, 2009 only) to your permit application. THE PAYROLL DEDUCTION MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE TAPS OFFICE PRIOR TO OCTOBER 9, 2009, TO BE PROCESSED. The one month payroll plan is not a pre-tax option. You must have a paycheck for the length of time you choose on your payroll deduction plan. If you purchase your permit after October 9, 2009, you may pay with cash, check or credit/debit card. If you are a new employee, you MUST come to the TAPS office (with your OSU ID card) to purchase a permit. Failure to do so, will slow the processing time for your permit.
Please pay close attention to signs and park in marked spaces only. All lots have signs at their entrances to let you know what type of permit is required and when enforcement is in effect. Be sure to check the signs before parking.
Parking is on a first-come, first serve basis. All reserved, handicap, service and timed spaces are enforced at all times unless otherwise posted. Parking is never allowed in a fire zone or in red/yellow curbed areas.
To assist the infrequent driver, daily permits for $7 and weekly permits for $34 are available. There are also 10 'Pay & Display' stations located throughout campus. The 'Pay & Display' station locations are shown on the OSU campus map located on the map section of the Transit & Parking Services website.
Hangtag permits should be displayed on the rearview mirror and be visible from the outside. Paper permits should be displayed on the driver's side dash, visible from the outside. Motorcycle, motor scooter and moped permits shall be affixed to the front or rear fender and be clearly visible.
Notify Oregon State Police (541-737-3010) and Transit & Parking Services (541-737-2583) immediately if a permit is lost or stolen. Replacement permits may be obtained at the TAPS office upon completion of the proper forms. There is a $25 replacement fee.
If you find a permit that is not your own, please return it to the TAPS office. Permit ownership is non-transferable. The display of a permit that has been reported lost or stolen carries a $250 fine and possible criminal prosecution.
Pro-rated refunds are provided for full year permits through the first two weeks of spring term. The permit must be received in the TAPS office before the refund deadline in order for the refund to be processed and is subject to a $15 administrative fee.
If your vehicle becomes disabled, and you cannot move it right away, call TAPS at (541) 737-2583 or Public Safety Dispatch (541) 737-3010.
Disabled spaces require both an OSU parking permit and a valid DMV placard. This policy is enforced at all times. With a valid DMV placard, any meter that has a time limit of more than 30 minutes does not require payment.
