Alternative & Shared Transportation

OSU encourages those who live near campus to consider alternative forms of transportation to get to their classes and jobs. Choosing alternative transportation, even once a week, is good for you and better for the environment. For special events dealing with transportation options, a link is provided to the Sustainability website. Sustainability

Walking and Biking

Walking and biking provide a number of benefits including:

  • Lower transportation costs
  • Health and fitness benefits
  • No stress about available parking
  • Cleaner air
  • Less traffic congestion

If you are riding your bike to campus, we recommend reviewing the following helpful links from the Department of Public Safety & Oregon State Police:

Public Transit

Corvallis Transit, Philomath Connection, Albany Transit and Linn-Benton Loop bus systems provide an excellent and convenient public transit system. Ride for free by showing your valid OSU ID card. Visit the links below for service, routes and park and ride locations.

OSU Shuttle

While on campus, TAPS is proud to provide a free shuttle service that runs from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday during the academic year. Visit our Shuttle page for stop locations throughout campus.

Carpooling

If you drive to campus, consider sharing a ride with classmates or friends. If you are looking for others to carpool with, visit the OSU Carpool/Rideshare Web site for ways to contact others in your area for free.

ASOSU SafeRide Program for Students

Students attending night classes around campus can get a ride from the ASOSU SafeRide Van. The van operates seven days a week during the regular school year (Fall, Winter and Spring terms.) You can contact SafeRide about pick-ups by calling the van service at 737-5000 or visit the website for more information.

Athletics

OSU Transit & Parking Services encourages Beaver fans to use alternate forms of transportation on game days. If you live near campus, consider walking or biking to the game. If you live in Corvallis, consider taking public transit (it is free with a student or staff ID card.) Also, free downtown and fairgrounds shuttles are available for those who wish to go to the home games at Reser Stadium.
