About TAPS

Administration
The administration team’s key function within TAPS is to provide excellent customer service to all of our customers.   We want your parking on campus to be a positive experience so we are here to answer questions and to provide assistance to you any way we can.  The administration team is also tasked with coordinating the sale of permits and managing the day to day financial transactions. 

Patrol
Transit and Parking Services patrol provides a community-minded approach to support TAPS permit management system.  TAPS Patrol Officer’s use various methods to convey information to parking patrons and provide assurance of, and encouragement toward observance of campus regulations. The TAPS Patrols are also essential in providing visitor information regarding OSU by giving directions to building locations, parking areas, and departments.

Maintenance
The maintenance Crew supports parking management efforts by keeping signage, pavement markings, control devices, and any other parking management equipment or properties functional and clear. Clear and functional control devices and markings work together to assist patrol by removing  ambiguity in the parking lots allowing for clear and consistent  interpretation by parking patrol staff. Well maintained parking areas are also promote positive public relations by providing the public clean, visually appealing parking and clear information and direction.

Sign Shop
The sign shop's primary purpose is to support the mission of TAPS and Facilities Services to provide rapid and cost effective replacement of regulatory and traffic signs. The sign shop also provides clear, adequate signage to the OSU campus according to the OSU sign plan. The sign shop is capable of designing and manufacturing most types and signs and displays.
