CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will close the university's main campus in Corvallis on Wednesday, Jan. 7, because of icy roads and sidewalks, falling trees and generally hazardous conditions.
Students, employees and visitors are asked not to walk on campus because of the conditions.
All classes and events scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled, according to Mark McCambridge, vice president for finance and administration.
Essential personnel are asked to report to work, but all other employees should stay home.
Roads are still extremely icy, and a coating of ice has snapped branches and toppled trees in several locations around campus. Parts of Corvallis were without power.
This is one of the few times that OSU has ever been forced to close for two days in a row.
