Corvallis, Ore – Two-hundred and twenty-nine Oregon State University student-athletes achieved a 3.00 or greater grade point average for fall term, the total represents 47 percent of the entire roster. The total also includes 198 student-athletes who have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater.
“We are very proud of the success we have had in the classroom,” Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. “It is not easy being a student-athlete with all the demands that are placed upon these young adults, but it shows the commitment our student-athletes have to succeed.”
Thirty student-athletes achieved a 4.00 GPA for fall term, including 13 who boast a cumulative GPA of 4.00.
The sports of women’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s golf, men’s rowing, women’s rowing, softball, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball and women’s cross country all finished fall term with team GPAs of over 3.00.
Oregon State University will recognize all 229 individuals at halftime of the Thursday, Jan. 26, men’s basketball game against the University of Southern California at Gill Coliseum. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
The Athletic Department recently had 37 student-athletes earn Pac-10 Conference All-Academic mention in the fall sports of football, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s cross country.
